About Me and The Rabbitry

My name is Briana Brown, I am 17 years old and I currently reside in Gaylord, MI. I have been rasing rabbits since the summer of 2004. I started off in 4-H with two mini rex does (Fig and Ashes). When Fig died suddenly, I got when out in search of another bunny. I found a lovely lady named Rose and she sold me a precious Jersey Wooly buck. Thanks to Rose and my siamese sable wooler (Percy), I fell in love with the breed and started my own rabbitry.

I now breed and show Jersey Woolies and Thriantas. I have had Woolies since 2005 and Thriantas since 2009 and I have a few singles of other breeds too. We became Northern Breeze Rabbitry in February 2006. I love rabbits with all of my heart. I am in ARBA and also in 4-H. I have a passion for animals and would like to become a vet tech. I have owned many differnet kinds of pets. Hamsters, guinea pigs, cats, dogs, horses, lizards, fish, birds and others. I still like to go out and ride horses everyonce and a while, and I will keep my bunnies around for a long time. :)

Besides rabbits I like reading, writing, typing, drawing, collecting bunny stuff, fashion, making webpages/sites, the internet in general, blogging, manga, anime, japanese culture and music. I am a counch potato and I love watching T.V and movies! I also have a slight obsession with the site Neopets. =P I have been playing faithfully since 2002.

How Did You Come Up With the Name?

When I decided to register a rabbitry, I wanted my name to be apart of it. My long time nickname has been "Breezy", "Breezer" or my personal favorite, "The Breeze". Thanks dad...anyway, I decided that since we now live up North and it usually is quite windy along with the snow and rain, Northern Breeze fit quite well. Since it is really to long to put on a pedigree I decided to go with NB's (rabbits name) as a prefix, but I decided that making it Breezy's (rabbits name), is even more personal.

Below are pictures of some my ribbons and trophies.

NEW BUILDING IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING BUILT! YAY!

Here is the front gate. It was first installed in the summer of 08'. This really helps to block the cold wind from blowing through in the winter months. We currently have 16 cages available to house bunnies in. There are 2 sets of cages and one larger separate cage.

Here are the first set of cages from the front view. There are two rows and each row has 6 cages in it. They are set up about 3½ feet from the ground. There is also a roof above to give them more shelter from the weather. You can see the wood shed that we put the carry cages and store hay in.

Here are the 12 cages from a different view. Now you can clearly see that they are next to the house. You can see the garage door too.

This is the second set of cages. There are 3 long, thin cages with one door that comes down. It also has a roof. There are also boxes on the back end that they can get into.

This is the last cage. Morrissey has it all to herself. She has lived in it for all but a couple months of her life. She had her babies in the giant box on the end. She loves to go inside during winter. In the summer time, she streches out in the open part and sunbathes. Her cage is right beside our deck so I can reach inside.

Here is the view of everything from the back yard. You can see the exercise pen behind Morrissey's box. We also keep some of our rakes and shovels by her cage too. Easy access for quick pick up.

In the future, my dad might finish this. This will be 3 separate cages. We will figure out the door situation too. All he has to do is put the sides on really.

We are getting rid of quite a few woolies and other bunnies. Most are pets, but some are for showing. I have a black junior buck and my orange netherland for sale.

We are going to be breeding self, pointed white and possibly the occasional shaded. We are also going to get a hold of a chestnut to start our agoutis up again. :)
